All Signs Point to Josh Lucas Returning to Yellowstone for Season 5

After a two-season hiatus, it appears that Josh Lucas will be returning to Yellowstone for season five.

Fans will recall that the Sweet Home Alabama star played a young John Dutton in the first two seasons of the hit series. Lucas brought John as a father dealing with the loss of his wife to life in painful detail.

After his noticeable absence from seasons three and four, the Arkansas-native teased a comeback in an April interview with People.

"I really, really hope so," Lucas replied when asked if there's a chance he could return to the show. "And I say that with sort of a wink in my eye because I think so. I really do. It's one of my favorite jobs I've ever done."

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when Lucas shared photos from what looks to be the Yellowstone set on Instagram.

"@yellowstone reminds that even on an airplane, cowboy boots are the most comfortable shoes ever made," he wrote alongside a series of photos, including three of himself on a ranch and one of his cowboy boots.

Just yesterday, Lucas shared a photo of himself trying to wrangle (or run from) a bucking horse.

"They say this horse is 1 in a Million. #warhorse," he captioned the wild 'gram.

In January, the show's executive producer, David Glasser, told Variety that fans can expect another great season from this epic family drama. "It's the prime of the show," he said. "I think the show is still maturing, and there's still a lot of story to tell."

Last week, Deadline confirmed that production on season five of Yellowstone was underway in Montana. The next installment is slated to premiere on Paramount Network on November 13.
