Shrimply irresistible: Here's your guide for Aransas Pass's 74th Shrimporee festivities
If you didn't get enough fun from Buc Days, don't worry because Aransas Pass's 74th Shrimporee is right around the corner.
Scheduled for Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12, the festival will include live music, a carnival, a dance competition, vendors, a parade and plenty of shrimp.
Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 7 to 12, active military with ID and senior citizens 60 and older. Kids 6-years old and under are free.

A three-day access pass is $15 and Sunday, June 12 is $5 for all ages.

Here's a guide on what to expect at this year's outdoor event.
Shrimporee Parade
Held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, the parade will begin at the intersection of East Maddox Avenue and Commercial Street. It will end at DeBerry Avenue.
There will be no through traffic on Maddox Avenue during the parade.
Floats are able to win trophies from categories including Best of Show, Best of Spirit, Best Decorated Float, Judge's Award: Best Overall Entry, Best Theme and Best Youth Entry.
Carnival
The festival opens at 6 p.m. Friday, June 10 and lasts until midnight, including the carnival.

On Saturday, June 11 the carnival will be open from noon to midnight and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 12.
A "Dollar Day" will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 9 with $2 rides.
Wristbands for a day are $30.
Shrimporee Food
Aside from a plethora of shrimp, food vendors will provide snacks and drinks for all.
Options from local vendors include a shrimp boil, fried shrimp kabobs, turkey legs, chicken strips, shrimp nachos, Louisiana style gumbo, agua frescas, candy apples and fried desserts.
Independent food vendors include Snack Attack, R&B Funnel Cakes & More, Mike's Ocean Nuggets, Kona Ice and Pecos Pete's Soda.
Food vendors only take cash and ATMs will be available on site.

To purchase beer and sodas, visit a beverage ticket booth for tickets. The carnival does not sell beverage tickets.
Dance Competition
For the first time, Shrimporee will host a Couples Country Western Dance Competition at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12.
Early entry fee per couple is $30. It must be paid in advance and is non-refundable.
The finale will take place at 3:30 p.m. with the awards to follow an hour later.
Contestants must be 18 years or older to participate.
The first place couple will win $300 and a trophy. Second place will win $150 and a trophy.
Other trophies will be awarded in categories including Crowd Favorite, Best Rhythm & Flow and Best Western Flare.

With two stages, there is plenty of chances to see and hear live entertainment at Shrimporee.

Parking
There will be limited parking at the festival grounds. If you're able to secure a parking spot, it will be $5.

Parking lots at the Aransas Pass Civic Center (700 W. Wheeler Avenue) and Care Regional Medical Center (1711 W. Wheeler Avenue) will be available only Friday, June 10 and Saturday June, 11.
