Show some love to local businesses downtown

Feb. 2—LENOIR — This February, let downtown businesses know how much they are loved and appreciated with Love Letters for Local.

City Main Street staff have declared that February will be "LOVE LOCAL" month in downtown Lenoir. Residents are encouraged to write a love letter to a downtown business and drop it off in one of the Love Letters for Local boxes located at the entrance to the downtown stage.

"It's a new take on a traditional Valentine's Day card, a fun way to show some love to our amazing downtown businesses," Community Engagement Coordinator Matthew Anthony said. "Small gestures of thanks appreciation mean a lot, and it's really easy to do."

All someone has to do is write a love letter for a downtown Lenoir business. Be sure to include the business name on the outside of the letter or envelope, and drop it in one of the "Love Letters for Local" mailboxes. No postage necessary.

Love Letters for Local runs through the end of February, so be sure to submit letters by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The downtown stage entrance is located across from City Hall at 801 West Ave.
