Rumson-Fair Haven 48, Ocean 25: Walker Skove (106), Alexander West (113) and Julian Duque (120) began the match with consecutive pins to give the Bulldogs an 18-0 lead after three bouts and they went on to defeat the Spartans.

Nick Costello (165) and 2020 NJSIAA 160-pound fifth-place finisher Shay Addison (190) pinned for Rumson-Fair Haven.

Nicholas Benner (150) pinned for Ocean.

Central 36, Toms River North 35: Aiden O'Brien's pin in the final bout at 106 pounds capped a rally from a 35-12 deficit over the final five bouts as the Golden Eagles defeated the Mariners.

A 6-4 win in sudden victory by Christopher Siller (175) began the winning run. A pin by Nicholas Campanella (190), a forfeit to unbeaten Cosmo Zaccaro (215) and an 8-1 decision by Logan Brennan followed Siler's win.

Lucas Iovino's pin at 165 had given Toms River North the 35-12 lead.

Brick Memorial 38, Jackson Memorial 26: The Mustangs (13-2, 5-1) collected bonus points in six of their seven bout wins, including five pins, as they defeated the Jaguars (11-5, 2-2).

Two-time state qualifier Ryan Smith (150), Josh James (157), freshman Harvey Ludington (175), heavyweight Sam Azzaretti and returning state champion Evan Tallmadge (120) all pinned. Smith, Ludington and Azzaretti pinned in 16, 32 and 57 seconds respectively.

Azzaretti's pin came at a key part of the match as the Jaguars had cut a 23-9 deficit to 23-19 with five bouts remaining.

Jackson Memorial closed to within 29-26 with a major decision from Jason Seda (106) and a late 5-3 win by Luis Espinosa (113) before Tallmadge's pin clinched the match.

Returning state champion Anthony Santaniello (138) had a technical fall for Brick Memorial.

Mike Rauch, a 2020 region sixth-place finisher, pinned in sudden victory and sophomore Kael Huxford (144) defeated two-time region top six finisher Braden Scott for Jackson Memorial.

Brick Memorial bumped both Santaniello and Scott up a weight.

Pinelands 34, Manchester 33: A pin by Gavin Wagner in the next-to-last-bout at 190 pounds gave the Wildcats the win over the Hawks. Neither team sent a wrestler out for the last bout at 215 pounds.

A 2-0 win by Nate Sheridan (175) had pulled Pinelands within 33-28 headed into the 190-pound bout.

NONDIVISIONAL

Red Bank 34, Monmouth 33: A win in sudden victory by Michael Meehan (144) gave the Bucs a 34-30 lead with one bout and then teammate Jack Murphy gave up only a decision in the final bout at 150 pounds as Red Bank defeated the Falcons.

Red Bank went on a 12-3 run over the final four bouts. Returning state qualifier Phil Stolfa (132) started the run with a pin. Ansel Bryant (138) followed with a 7-3 lead to give the Bucs a 31-30 lead headed into the final two bouts.

Marlboro 54, Matawan 19

NONCONFERENCE

Southern 63, Lower Cape May 12: Rams' junior 215-pounder Riley O'Boyle pinned two-time state qualifier Marcus Hebron with 51 seconds remaining for the big news in Southern's win over Lower Cape May. Hebron was leading 6-4 when O'Boyle took him down and then put him to his back.

Freehold Township 39, Middletown North 30: The Patriots' Ryan Dubnik defeated Brady Klinsky 6-4 at 113 pounds in a matchup of returning region qualifiers in Freehold Township's win over the Lions.

16. Freehold Township 45, 17. Jackson Liberty 31: Pins by Ryan Dubnik (113) and Christian Borromeo (120) gave the Patriots (10-6) the lead for good at 30-28 as Freehold Township went on a 27-3 run over the final six bouts and defeat the Lions (5-5).

A pin by Liam Flanigan (138) clinched the match with one bout remaining. Tyler Muranelli (144) closed the match with a pin.

Freehold Township will wrestle at No. 1 seed Christian Brothers Academy (10-2) Thursday at 5 p.m. in the round of 16.

15. Toms River East 46, 18 Manasquan 21: A pin by Logan Bucci (106) began a 27-3 run over the final seven bouts as the Raiders (9-8) defeated Manasquan (9-4).

Jaton Wellington (126) had an overtime win over Michael O'Connor, Zackary Gorlin (120) and Michael Pond (138) had decisions and Nicholas Delorenzo (144) a pin during the match-ending run.

Toms River East will wrestle at No. 2 seed Middletown South Thursday at 5 p.m.in the round of 16.

19. Middletown North 46, 14. Wall 22: A major decison by returning region qualifier Brady Klinsky (106) followed by pins by Jacob Portman (113) and Justin Haddad (120) enabled the Lions (4-7) to jump out to a 16-0 lead and they went on to the win over the Crimson Knights (10-7).

Wall closed to within 19-13 halfway through before a decision by Matthew Castelli (150) and a pin by Shaun Sullivan (157) enabled Middletown North to build the lead back up to 28-13.

Middletown North will wrestle at No. 3 seed Howell (14-3) Thursday at 5 p.m. in the round of 16.

13. Freehold 50, 20. Manalapan 27: Pins by Joseph Berryman (157) and Marcus Murphy (165) followed by a major decision by Brandon Smith (175) enabled the Colonials (9-4) to build a 16-0 lead after three bouts and they went on to defeat Manalapan (8-11) for what could be the first SCT win in school history.

Freehold, which has clinched a tie for the Class B North championship, its first-ever divisional title, extended the lead to 32-6 on a major decison by Alberto Pantoja (215) and pins Jonathon Johnson (heavyweight) and and Sam Sheridan (106).

A pin by 2020 state qualifier Angelo Messina (126) made it 38-16 and a pin by Andrew Fata (144) clinched the match with one bout left.

Freehold will wrestle at No. 4 seed Brick Memorial Thursday at 5 p.m. in the round of 16.

CLASS A SOUTH

Toms River South 36, Toms River North 34: Robert Pape's pin in the final bout at 106 pounds gave Toms River South the win over the Mariners. It was Toms River South's first win over Toms River North since 2016.

Cole Ganska's 2-1 win at heavyweight had extended Toms River North's lead to 34-30 entering the final bout.

Southern 58, Toms River East 19: Dave Casas (heavyweight), Sam Pari (106) and Scottie Sari (113) had consecutive pins to conclude a four-bout 24-point run from heavyweight-113 as the Rams (12-0, 6-0) clinched a tie for the Shore Conference Class A South championship with the win over the Raiders (9-8, 4-2).

It is the second straight season Southern, ranked No. 6 in the New Jersey Wrestling Writers Association Top 20, has cllinched at least a tie for the Class A South title. It can win it outright with a win over Toms River South on Feb. 3.

CBA 34, St. Peter's Prep 30: Consecutive pins by two-time state qualifier Zander Silva (157), two-time region qualifiers Nick Stump (165) and Anthony Lawrence (175) gave the Colts the lead for good at 28-19 and then Robert Canterino (215) clinched the match with one bout left with a pin as CBA (10-2) defeated the Maruaders (5-1).

CBA was trailing 19-7 before a decision by 2020 state qualifier Tyler Barrett at 150 preceded the three straight pins.

St. Peter's Prep is ranked No. 5 in the New Jersey Wrestling Writers Association Top 20. CBA is ranked No. 13.

Sophomore Alex Nini (120), the state eighth-place finisher at 113 last year, defeated 2020 state qualifier Donovan Chavis 4-2; Stump's pin came against 2020 region sixth-place finisher and three-time region qualifier Roger Diaz.
