I haven't seen the inside of a salon since February, thanks to quarantine. While I’m used to shorter haircuts, I’m learning to love my long hair, and discovering some helpful hair care products along the way. For the past three months, I’ve been using the HoliRoots Repairing Hair Mask from Fable & Mane. This rich, nourishing treatment makes my hair noticeably softer and shinier every time I use it.

The HoliRoots Repairing Hair Mask includes coconut cream for hydration, banana for fullness, and mango butter for moisturizing. It works to fight frizz, hydrate hair, and protect against split ends, damage, and breakage. The mask works for many hair types and textures, and it’s vegan and cruelty-free.

I’m a sucker for scents, so I love how the HoliRoots Repairing Hair Mask smells like freshly baked banana bread. Stress-baking is one of my favorite quarantine activities, so whenever I catch a whiff of this hair mask, I instinctively start to relax.

Application is easy. I put the mask in lieu of a conditioner, applying the thick ointment section by section starting at the tips of my hair and ending at the roots. I let the mask sit in my strands for at least five minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. The mask makes my hair smell like a bakery for up to two days afterwards, and it has a creamy consistency that adds joy to my showers.

Many Sephora shoppers feel the exact same way, giving this Fable & Mane hair mask an average rating of 4.5. They’re calling it a “miracle worker,” “hidden gem,” and “magic in a jar,” and praising how it deeply conditions hair even in difficult climates, like Hawaii and California.

“I live in Hawaii and typically use a hair mask once a week to help combat the heat and salt damage,” one shopper wrote. “I would love this hair mask just for the smell, which is divine. But it also made my long, fine, limp hair feel fuller, which is hard to do since I typically air dry my hair.”

“I’m a huge hair product junkie because I bleach and color my hair at home,” another added. “I recently lightened my hair from black to blonde in a way too short amount of time, so my hair has been pretty dry with damage. I used this hair mask once and it made my hair so soft, smooth, and it smells amazing.”
