Good for both full-price and sale merchandise, the Friends and Family event runs through September 13 and is open now to Athleta credit cardholders (as well as cardholders for all the Gap family brands, including Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy), as well as members of the Athleta Loyalty Rewards program. Not a member? It's free to sign up, and members accrue points at Athleta as well as all the other Gap brands. Shoppers don’t need a code to score the 20% off savings, and the discounts will be automatically taken at checkout. That said, they’re not applied until the very end of the process, so be patient while entering your credit card info!

In the market for a new lightweight jacket? The Whisper featherless jacket, normally $199, can be yours for $159.20 with the code. Made with 3M Recycled Thinsulate, the jacket, which is sold in four colors, blocks out the cold without extra bulk. Beyond its warm construction, the jacket has a trendy dolphin hem, which pairs well with everything from leggings and sweats to jeans and flowy skirts. Additionally, it has two spacious hip pockets as well as a hidden interior breast pocket. In short, it’s the autumn jacket you never knew you needed.

If you prefer a longer jacket, you might be interested in the best-selling Grandview PrimaLoft shell, which is normally $168 but is on sale for $134.40 with the Friends and Family discount.
