Sheriff's Office investigating rash of burglaries in Holland Township

HOLLAND TWP. — Police are asking for the public's help in the investigation of several home invasions in Holland Township over the past month.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said in each incident, suspects have forced entry into unoccupied homes and stolen items, including cash, jewelry, clothing and accessories.

The first incident was reported Oct. 23, with additional incidents occurring over Thanksgiving weekend, both during the day and evening hours.

Police said the thieves appear to have targeted victims who are restaurant owners and have burglarized the homes while the victims are at work. Police did not give an exact value of what was taken, but said the losses were in the thousands of dollars.

The cases remain under investigation; anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office or Silent Observer at 877-88 SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com.
