‘She will be deeply missed.’ World’s oldest dog, an SC toy fox terrier, has died

Pebbles, who was named the world’s oldest dog in May by Guinness World records, has died.

She was 22.

A Long Island girl, she lived with her owners — or more accurately family — Bobby and Julie Gregory for the past 15 years in Taylors, South Carolina.

An Instagram account set up in her honor announced she had died Monday of natural causes.

A toy fox terrier, Pebbles had 32 puppies with her partner, Rocky, who died in 2016, the Instagram post said. She never lost her trim 4-pound figure.

She enjoyed country music, trying new foods and being loved.

When her Guinness designation was announced, the organization said she was born March 28, 2000 and at the time was “still showing the world that anything is paw-sible.” The Gregorys were quoted at the time as saying they celebrated her 22nd birthday by giving her a stack of ribs and a bubble bath.

“Treat them like family because they are. Give them a happy positive environment as much as possible, good clean food and proper healthcare,” she told Guinness World Records in May.

On Instagram, the Gregorys said everyone who met Pebbles loved her. They described her as a “once-in-a-lifetime companion.”

She is shown on Instagram with various looks, sporting sunglasses in one, a pink tutu in another. She regularly wore ribbons on her head and loved to try new foods.

“It was our honor to have had the blessing to have her as our pet and family member,” the Gregorys said. “She will be deeply missed.”
