Redding businessman Kevin Crye has narrowly defeated Erin Resner in the Shasta County Board of Supervisors District 1 race.

The final unofficial results released Tuesday showed Crye held off Resner, who sits on the Redding City Council, by 90 votes, or 50.4% to 49.6%.

Registrar of Voters Cathy Darling Allen said all the ballots have been counted from the Nov. 8 general election.

Darling Allen said her office will do a final audit on Wednesday and plans to certify the election no later than Thursday.

In the race for three seats on the Redding City Council, incumbent and Vice Mayor Michael Dacquisto was the top vote-getter with 18%. Joining Dacquisto on the council as new members will be Tenessa Audette and Jack Munns.

The Shasta Lake City Council will welcome new members Justin Jones and Pamelyn Morgan, who won reelection.

Incumbent Mike Gallagher will return to the Anderson City Council, and he will be joined by newcomer Dan Gallier.

Meanwhile, after barely losing the June primary and forcing a runoff, Crye was able to defeat Resner in a sometimes contentious race.

Crye now joins a Board of Supervisors that figures to lean even further to the right.

On his campaign Facebook page, Crye thanked his family and supporters and said he will work hard to represent all of Shasta County.

“I will also be doing my best to earn the respect and trust of voters who supported Erin. Several times during the campaign I said that we don’t always have to agree, but that we HAVE to get along so we can get things done for this county that we all love,” Crye posted.

Resner also thanked her family and supporters on her Facebook page.

“I will not be taking the supervisor seat, I hope Kevin will choose to step up and represent EVERYONE in our community despite the differences of opinion that exist. I will continue to fight for our community and am always ready to discuss how we can make our community stronger,” Resner posted.

Also new to the board will be businessman Chris Kelstrom, who beat Anderson Mayor Baron Browning 52%-48% to win the District 5 seat, which had been held by Les Baugh for four terms. Baugh initially backed Browning but then changed his mind in the final weeks before the November election.

The District 1 seat has been held by Joe Chimenti, who was elected in 2018 but chose not to seek a second term. He supported Resner.
