Seth Rogen's first book, 'Yearbook,' a collection of true stories and essays, is out May 11

Seth Rogen is already high on life (and maybe other substances). Soon, he might be high on the bestsellers lists.

The actor, comedian, filmmaker and proud stoner has a deal with Crown for his first book, a collection of nonfiction stories and essays called "Yearbook." It’s due to hit shelves May 11. Rogen is also reading the audiobook, which comes out the same day.

“I wrote a book called Yearbook,” Rogen tweeted Wednesday. “It’s true stories and essays and stuff that I hope you think are funny. It comes out in May, but if you like you can order it now. Yay!”

In a statement from the publisher Wednesday purported to be from Rogen's mother, Sandy, she calls his literary endeavor "not really a memoir" but more like "a bunch of funny stories."

"He talks about doing stand-up when he was a kid (I drove him to all his shows!), his grandparents, high school, moving to L.A., meeting some famous people, things like that. If I'm being honest, I really wish there wasn't so much drug talk," Sandy says.

"Why does he need all that? It's like 'We get it!' And some of the stories? I mean, they're entertaining, but I was just shocked they happened and he never told me!"

Recently, Rogen has been making headlines for his public dispute with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. Rogen took to Twitter to call Cruz a “fascist” after claiming President Joe Biden's choice to rejoin the accord indicated he was "more interested views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh."

Cruz responded to Rogen's profanely worded tweet, calling it a "charming, civil, educated response."

He added: "If you’re a rich, angry Hollywood celebrity, today’s Dems are the party for you. If you’re blue-collar, if you’re a union member, if you work in energy or manufacturing ... not so much."

Rogen is in "four unions," the actor replied.

Rogen went on to tweet, “Your lies got people killed. You have blood on your hands.”
