Serious cold and possibly snow are coming to town early this week

MUNCIE, Ind. — Anyone wishing for a white Christmas recently maybe should have been a little more specific about the timing, since snow — and accompanying cold — are in the forecast for the next day or so, still three weeks out from the winter holiday.

In a stark contrast to Sunday night's temperature up to 61 degrees, Monday night's forecast calls for a low around 17 degrees, rising to all of 28 on Tuesday, according the National Weather Service.

By Tuesday night, it might look as well as feel like actual winter, with a 40% chance of snow and a low around 21 degrees.

Wednesday's daytime high is forecast around 36 degrees before climbing back up to 63 degrees with likely rain showers on Friday, according to the NWS website.
