It is All-Star week in the NHL and as a result, there will be no games between Thursday and Sunday with only the All-Star Game itself going Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas.

It was supposed to be the start of a three-week break for the game and the upcoming Olympics but the NHL is not going as they needed the time to take care of all the postponed games as a result of COVID.

There is a huge discrepancy in games in the following two weeks as Ottawa leads the way with nine games while Florida, Los Angeles, the New York Rangers, San Jose and Tampa Bay only play three.

NOTE: The Seattle-New York Islanders game was originally scheduled for Saturday Jan. 29 but was postponed to Wednesday because of the snowstorm. It is now reflected in this schedule.

Here are the games scheduled for the weeks beginning Feb. 7 and Feb. 14. Each week’s games are in brackets.

9 Games – Ottawa (5,4)

8 Games – Edmonton (3,5)

7 Games – Carolina (4,3), Winnipeg

6 Games – Boston (3,3), Buffalo (2,4), Calgary (3,3), Chicago (2,4), Columbus (3,3), Dallas (3,3), Minnesota (2,4), Montreal (4,2), New York Islanders (3,3), Pittsburgh (3,3), Toronto (3,3)

5 Games – Arizona (3,2), Colorado (2,3), New Jersey (4,1), Seattle (2,3), St. Louis (2,3), Vancouver (3,2), Vegas (2,3), Washington (3,2)

4 Games – Anaheim (1,3), Detroit (2,2), Nashville (2,2), Philadelphia (2,2)

3 Games – Florida (0,3), Los Angeles (0,3), New York Rangers (0,3), San Jose (0,3), Tampa Bay (2,1)

The column will still be updated if need be, on Sunday evening before the start of a new week if there are any more postponements.

Montreal has the week off...They are last in the NHL standings, trailing even Arizona and what makes it more amazing is that they went to the Stanley Cup Final just six months ago...There is still not one player who has double digits in goals, the best being Nick Suzuki and Josh Anderson who both have eight...Every other team in the NHL has at least two players with 10 goals or more with only Anaheim, the New York Islanders and the expansion Seattle Kraken sitting with two players...That is bad and the Canadiens look to need a complete overhaul…Rem Pitlick also has eight goals but only two in seven games with Montreal after he was claimed off waivers from Minnesota two weeks ago.
