John Metchie III got the best of Roger McCreary, and Alabama put away Auburn after 60 minutes and four overtimes.

Metchie scored the game-winning points on the fourth overtime try, scoring on a Bryce Young pass on an out route from three yards out as Alabama won 24-22 over Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium in a classic Iron Bowl.

Auburn's fourth overtime try came before the Tide's, and Auburn QB TJ Finley's pass in the end zone was broken up by Alabama defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Alabama trailed for the long majority of the game, only tying the game with 24 seconds left on a 28-yard touchdown pass from Young to Ja'Corey Bryant. That sent the game to overtime, where the teams traded touchdowns through the first three overtimes before the game-deciding fourth.
