The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team captured the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship on Saturday by defeating Appalachian State 24-16 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The UL Ragin' Cajuns, ranked No. 21 in the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, improved to 12-1 overall. Appalachian State went to 10-3 overall.

After Saturday, Appalachian State leads the all-time series 8-3 vs. Louisiana.

It was the final game for Billy Napier as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football head coach before taking over the Florida Gators program.

Louisiana quarterback Levi Lewis was named the MVP of the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship game. He went 15-for-30 passing with 210 yards and one passing touchdown, and he rushed nine times for 43 yards and one rushing touchdown.
