Tell me you're viewing an old home on the East Coast without telling me you're viewing an old home on the East Coast.
It's a question realtor Jacqui Rostek posed on TikTok, with a video showing seaweed coming out of the ceiling in the basement of a home she was viewing.
"I don't see it a lot but I have definitely seen it a few times in older homes. It's like eel grass, sort of seaweed, and it was used as basically cheap insulation," said Rostek.
The seaweed insulation has been discovered in older homes around Halifax, N.S., found in some buildings that are 60-100 years in age.
