Seahawks have not lost in Philadelphia since 1989

The Philadelphia Eagles are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2017 season. Although the Eagles and the Seahawks had little connection this year, there is an interesting stat 12’s might want to be reminded of:

The Seahawks have not lost in Philadelphia since September 1989.

Since then, the Seahawks are a remarkable 7-0 against the Eagles in the City of Brotherly love, including the postseason. The last time Seattle went east to play the Eagles, they won 23-17 on Monday Night Football during the 2020 season.

Actually, the Seahawks have outright owned Philadelphia as of late. They aren’t just 7-0 against them on their home turf, they are currently on a 7-game win streak over them in general. Under Pete Carroll, Seattle has not lost to the Eagles.

Now, the Eagles were an absolute juggernaut this season, dominating opponents left and right. It’s hard to envision a scenario where the 2022 Seahawks could have bested the 2022 Eagles. However, the last time Philadelphia was in the Super Bowl, Seattle beat them 24-10 at Lumen Field.
