Schedule Moderna vaccine at health department

Jun. 12—NORWALK — Huron County Public Health has Moderna vaccine available currently.

Interested individuals can schedule an appointment by calling 419-668-1652 ext. 241 or book an appointment using the online scheduling tool at: https://bit.ly/3xxHh3O.

Bring a valid ID and insurance information to your vaccination appointment; there will be no out-of-pocket cost to individuals. Individuals must be 18 years or older to receive the Moderna vaccine.

In Huron County, there are 19,333 residents who have received a complete vaccination series.

For the week of June 4-11, there were 6 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the county.

Three of the cases occurred in Norwalk, one in Bellevue, one in Plymouth and one in Willard.

There have been 5,524 total confirmed and probable cases, including deaths, in Huron County.

As of Thursday, May 27, the Ohio Department of Health announced the cancellation of the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. The alert system launched in July 2020 to assess the degree of COVID-19 spread by county and provide data to help guide the response during the pandemic.

As cases decline and vaccinations rise, the data is no longer the best measure of Ohio's current status.
