Savannah Guthrie's "Today" show broadcast on Thursday didn't exactly go as planned, but the mistake has resonated with plenty of the show's viewers.

Guthrie took to social media to reveal that she mistakenly put her dress on backward while getting ready for the show, and didn't realize until they were already taping. The wardrobe mishap left her "choking," but she was able to fix it in between the first and second hours of the show.

Co-host Hoda Kotb was the one to point out Savannah's mishap to Today viewers, saying: “I have to point out, I’m sorry, sometimes when you get dressed in the morning — you all know this — things get backwards."

Guthrie explained to viewers that she had been distracted since she woke up at 3:30 in the morning to catch Roger Federer, her favorite tennis player, lose to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open.

“So that happened,” the mom-of-two joked. “Well, there’s always next year.”

Plenty of viewers took to Instagram to comment on the relatable slipup:

"It happens the best of us. And now we know you are a normal, everyday busy mom human being," wrote one follower, while another commented, "The show must go on."

The 48-year-old returned to her "Today" duties earlier this month after undergoing eye surgery to fix a tear in her retina. In December, Guthrie's 3-year-old son accidentally hit her in the eye with a toy train, leaving her in recovery for a month.

“When I say ‘Good to see you,’ I really mean it,” Guthrie joked while addressing viewers in her return.
