Saturday's local baseball roundup: East Side Legion rolls to doubleheader sweep

East Side 11, Sturbridge 1; East Side 11, Sturbridge 0: Nick Fenuccio fired a six-inning no-hitter while striking out 10 in the second game as host East Side (11-3) won twice over Sturbridge (0-13) at Gaskill Field.

East Side's Will Ernst was 3 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and teammates Jack LeFrancois and Chris Palermo each went 2 for 3.

In the first game, Ernst hurled five no-hit innings, and Cam Carignan was 4 for 4 with a double and five RBIs to boost East Side. Fenuccio was 3 for 3 with two runs, and leadoff hitter Jack McGrath worked three walks and scored four times.

Milford 6, Northbridge 4: Andrew Dennison, Cam Jerrett and Scott Pagliuca each had two hits, Nick Koch served a double-play ball to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth innings, and Nick Paharik (double) posted a one-inning save for visiting Milford (13-4, 9-4 Zone 4).

Matt Landry was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Northbridge (7-7).

PNJ Senior Ruth

Millbury 9, Douglas 6: Nick Fadden doubled and drove in four runs, and also earned the save by striking out three in 1⅔ innings for host Millbury.

Matt Fadden was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Millbury, which scored eight runs in the second inning.

Futures Collegiate League

Norwich 10, Bravehearts 9: Worcester (15-17) scored four runs in the first inning and five in the fourth, holding a 9-4 lead through five, but host New Britain (17-16) rallied for three runs in the ninth at Dodd Stadium.

Gavin Noriega went 3 for 5 and scored twice for the Bravehearts, and Cam Seymour hit a three-run homer in the fourth. Lewis Barnum was 2 for 4 with a double and also drove in three runs.

Seymour relieved Ben Smith in the ninth and allowed the winning two-run double to C.J, Willis.
