Saturday's HS roundup: Howarth leads Exeter boys hockey to fourth straight win

EXETER - Callum Howarth had two goals and one assist as the Exeter High School boys hockey team skated past Bishop Brady/Merrimack Valley/Concord Christian Academy, 8-1 on Saturday in a Division I game at The Rinks.

It was the fourth straight win for the Blue Hawks, who are now 6-4 on the season.

Ty Robinson and West Vaillant both had one goal, and two assists for the Blue Hawks, while Eddie Hannan, Cam Snee, Justin Shapiro and Liam Casey all scored.

Brian Najjar added four assists in the win, while Brady Smith, Eddie Koza, Hannan and Snee all had one.

Exeter goalie Logan Dixon had two saves.

BOYS HOCKEY

Dover 5

Somersworth/Coe-Brown 4

DOVER - Jacob Lapierre had three goals and Logan Spagna and Brady McDonough all had one for Dover in this Division I win at Dover Ice Arena.

Spagna had three assists in the win, while Owen Culcasi had two, and Lapierre, McDonough and Caleb Marasca all had one.

Dover goalie Brett Davis had 22 saves.

JR Norris had two goals for Bearcats, while Giovanni Green and Jonny Pelletier both had one. James Sawyer had two assists for Somersworth/Coe-Brown, and Pelletier and Connor Strum both had one.

Somersworth/Coe-Brown goalie Rylye Coe had 30 saves.

St. Thomas Aquinas 6

Merrimack 5, OT

DOVER - Jackson Estes' second goal of the game was the winner in overtime for the Saints in this Division II contest at Dover Ice Arena. STA is now 10-0-1 on the season.

Brendan Chrisom added three goals for the Saints, whiles Max Murray also scored. Colin Chrisom had four assists.

TYNGSBORO, Mass. - Nolan Rennie scored the lone goal for the Warriors in this Division II game at Skate 3 Arena.

Brady Thompson and Drew Marelli assisted.

DURHAM - Maggie Farwell, Kira Jacobs, Kate Deans, Eliza Farwell, Emily Kumph, Jordyn March, Eliza Wheeler, Sage Bussiere, Maggie Callahan, and Karina Beer all had a goal for the ClipperCats in this Division I win at the Whittemore Center.

Oyster River/Portsmouth goalie Amelie Cowieson earned the shutout.

EXETER - Molly Green had two goals and two assists, and Maddie Mann had two goals and one assist for Exeter in this Division I win at The Rinks.

Caitlyn Knowles and Lilyan Blood both had one goal and one assist for the Blue Hawks, while Hailey O’Kane andAddison MacNeil both scored.

DOVER - Kayley Young had three goals, while Delaney Riley, Bella Carey and Julianna Grella all had one for the Saints in this Division I win at Dover Ice Arena.

Young, Riley, McKenzie Wessling and Bridget Kelly all had an assist in the win.

STA goalie Diana Pivirotto had 48 saves.

DURHAM - Vivian O’Quinn's nine points led Oyster River in this Division II loss. Teammates Abby Deane and Olivia Anderson scored eight and seven points, respectively.

KITTERY, Maine - Emme Hale's 22 points led three Class C Rangers in double-figures in this win over Class D Seacoast Christian.

Hannah Thorsen added 18 points for Traip, while Lily Stuart had 10. Breckyn Winship led the Guardians with 19 points.

DOVER - Freshman Emma Toriello had 14 points and senior Abby Rayder had 10 for St. Thomas Aquinas (8-4) in this Division III win.

Sophomore Genna Bolduc added eight points and 14 rebounds for the Saints.

HAMPTON - Spaulding led by as many as nine in the fourth quarter before three Winnacunnet 3-pointers cut the deficit to a single possession.

Jenna Philbrook and Mackenzie Brochu each had 14 points for Spaulding, while Riley Kerens led Winnacunnet with nine.

BELMONT - Will Mollica had 16 points and Brady Rogers had 13 for St. Thomas Aquinas (11-1) in this Division III win.

“Proud of our guys to go on the road and come out with the win," STA head coach David Morissette said. "Belmont is well-coached and one of the top teams in our league.  Very happy with the defensive effort.”

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Biddeford hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, earning this Class A South win. Biddeford is now 4-10, while Marshwood is 9-4.

Cooper Aiguier and Jared Herrin each had 14 points for the Hawks.

BOW - Matthew Jernigan's 16 points led Oyster River in this Division II loss. Mason Tatarian and Drew Dulac scored 13 and 10 points, respectively for the Bobcats.

PORTSMOUTH - The Clippers got back to .500 at 5-5 with this Division I win. Matthew Minckler led Portsmouth with 20 points, while Jackson Jones had 14 and Lucas Fuller had 11.

WRESTLING

Spaulding sweeps dual meet with Mascoma, Lebanon

ROCHESTER - The Red Raiders beat Mascoma (52-29) and Lebanon (59-22)

106 - Trey Wiley (106 pound) won both his matches, as did Noah Jackson (113), Jayden Deal (126), Noah Lallas (132), Cole Colon (138), Jack Morgan (145), and Wesley Alfonso (195).
