Brown was selected to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) 2021 40 Under 40 list as announced in the fall 2021 edition of Chamber Executive, the association's digital magazine.

ACCE said the annual recognition program showcases leaders who have "demonstrated success in their careers and made significant contributions to the communities they serve."

"During a year that challenged us all, their creativity, dedication and commitment to identifying innovated solutions will help shape the future of the chamber profession," ACCE said in its announcement.

Brown was one of 40 chosen from more than 130 nominations. He was nominated by the Salina Chamber's board chair, Jeff Maes, who also owns ComPro Realty.

“Eric has positively impacted our organization and community because of his leadership, skills, knowledge, willingness to help others and dedication to our mission," Maes said about Brown's nomination. "His experience and leadership with both long-term and short-term community development efforts, chamber specific programming, advocacy and business development has had a truly positive impact on the future of Salina and our region of Kansas as a whole.”

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the chamber, under Brown's leadership, has seen several successes over the past year, including business expansion in the community like Great Plains Manufacturing's purchase of the Philips Lighting building, and the continued push for success in the community with the Salina Strong campaign, which gives local businesses and the community opportunities and resources through these uncertain times.
