Back-to-school shopping briefly goes tax-free on the third full weekend of July.

From July 15 through July 17, Montgomery shoppers can take advantage of the 2022 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. Both the city and county participate in the event, during which sales taxes are suspended on certain clothes, protective equipment, sports and recreation equipment, computers or computer-related items less than $750, non-commercial school supplies and more.

The sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 15, and ends at midnight on July 17.
