Saints report: CSS men take third in UMAC soccer

May 9—On the same day that his sister starred in leading St. Scholastica to the UMAC women's soccer title, Nolan Friday scored his first goal of the season in overtime to give the Saints a 2-1 victory over Northland College in the conference third-place game at Saints Field.

Jonah Evans gave the Lumberjacks (4-6-1) an early lead before the Saints responded less than 10 minutes later on an Alex Dodd goal.

CSS (6-3) had a hard time beating Northland goalkeeper Jamie Covill, who made seven saves, until Keegan Chastey found Friday for the game-winner 3 minutes, 12 seconds into overtime.

Morgan Friday netted three goals in St. Scholastica's 4-0 win over Wisconsin-Superior in the women's final.
