Sacramento History Museum says gold artifacts taken during break-in

The Sacramento History Museum said some of its gold artifacts were stolen after the museum was broken into early Saturday. "Horrifying," said Delta Pick Mello, Executive Director. "This is the first time this has ever happened here in the museum. We’ve been here for 35 years." The break-in happened around 5:15 a.m., according to Traci Rockefeller Cusack, a spokesperson for the museum on the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Two display cases were damaged and the gold artifacts were taken from a third display case that was broken into, she said. See more above.
