There aren’t many position battles that can change the course of the national college football picture, but for Ohio State, that is likely the case for 2023. When C.J. Stroud declared for the NFL Draft, all eyes turned to Kyle McCord and Devin Brown as Stroud’s successor.

The competition to take over one of college football’s elite offenses is a big task and Ryan Day knows that. The Buckeye boss had a chance to speak with the media Wednesday due to national signing day and updated everyone on how he sees the battle playing out. Day wants to see one of the two emerge as a front-runner, with the potential of naming a starter at the conclusion of spring practice.

I postulated we could see McCord and Brown battle into the season, but it seems Day has different ideas. We will be waiting for reports coming from spring practice to find out who really has the leg up in the competition.
