Roundup: Heath boys basketball clinches LCL-Cardinal title

Keylan Williams led a balanced attack with 16 points Friday, sparking the Heath boys basketball team to a 56-46 victory against visiting Northridge to clinch at least a share of the Licking County League-Cardinal Division title.

Reece Huber scored eight of his 15 points in the fourth quarter for the Bulldogs (14-2, 11-0), who have won 10 consecutive games and visit Jonathan Alder on Saturday and Licking Heights on Tuesday. Brandon McLaughlin and Josh Guy added nine points and nine rebounds apiece.

Nic Minder hit five 3-pointers for the Vikings (9-5, 6-4), totaling a game-high 19 points. J.D. Miller added 16 points.

Granville nips Zanesville

Dante Varrasso scored nine points of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter, lifting Granville past upset-minded Zanesville (2-13, 1-9) in a 49-48 road victory in LCL-Buckeye play.

Dylan Niedermeyer scored 11 points for the Blue Aces (10-6, 9-1), who outscored the Blue Devils 12-10 in the fourth quarter. Max Rosinski added eight points.

Heights beats Valley

Dante Collier made all 10 of his foul shots in the fourth quarter, sealing Licking Heights' 72-63 victory at Licking Valley in LCL-Buckeye play.

Collier piled up 24 points. Toure Young added 13 points, Yara Conde 11 and Jayden Griffith nine for the Hornets (10-5, 8-1).

Dillan Stewart totaled 21 points for the Panthers (6-12, 3-8). Colby Stough added 20 points and Jacob Wheeler 13.

Johnstown wins on road

Johnstown limited host Lakewood to six points in the first half, cruising to a 58-35 victory in LCL-Cardinal play.

Drew Brett scored 14 points for the Johnnies (10-7, 7-4), who led 24-6 at halftime. Cody Siegfried added 10 points, and Hunter Groves hit a trio of 3-pointers for nine.

Carson Watts scored 12 points for the Lancers (1-13, 0-9), and Zach Cramer added nine.

Liberty battles on road

Liberty Christian's late surge fell just short in a 45-41 loss at Tree of Life in Mid-Ohio Christian Athletic League play.

Josh Onabanjo scored 16 points for the Eagles (2-11, 2-6), who trailed 37-24 after three quarters and got as close as two down the stretch. Joseph Bracaloni added 12 points and Evan Adair 11.
