CHILLICOTHE — Crooksville was in dire straits during Wednesday's Division III district semifinal.

The Rockets took a 1-0 lead on Kamryn Karr's RBI double in the second, while Jenna Johnston and Alyssa Petersen each hit solo home runs in the fourth to make it 3-0.

McKenna Headley kept the Wellston bats in check from there, as she scattered six hits, fanned two and walked two in a complete game win. She also had two of the Ceramics' five hits.

Crooksville faces the winner of Portsmouth-Chillicothe Zane Trace in the district final at 5 p.m. Saturday.
