Shay Whitcomb hit his 15th home run in the sixth and Quincy Hamilton finished with two of Corpus Christi's five hits.

Highlights: Quincy Hamilton's go-ahead, opposite field two-run home run in the eighth inning proved to be the difference in the Hooks' win against the RoughRiders at Whataburger Field. Hamilton's second home run in a Corpus Christi uniform broke a 1-1 tie with two outs in the inning. Joe Perez reached second base on a Frisco error before Hamilton's clutch blast. Reliever Freylin Garcia retired the RoughRiders in order for his first save of the season and Corpus Christi's second win of the series. Shay Whitcomb also homered to give the Hooks a 1-0 advantage in the second inning. Hooks starter Tyler Brown pitched six innings, allowing one run with six strikeouts. Derek West and Garcia combined for three shutout innings and three strikeouts in relief.
