Female Moose Battle It out Behind Anchorage Home Depot
A man in Anchorage, Alaska, recorded the tense moment on January 17 when a mama moose grazing with her two calves came to blows with another female who appeared to get too close for comfort.
The video was recorded by Jared Solberg behind a Home Depot and shows the moose nibbling on shrubs before their meal is interrupted by a newcomer. Mama moose pauses her grazing and approaches the intruder, who lunges, only to get some kicks to the face.
Solberg told Storyful that he was taking pictures of the family when the fourth moose appeared.
“I panned back to the moose near my truck to see her ears perk up and then straight back, which is also a sign of aggression,” he said.
He said that the two moose “met at [the] back of my truck” and exchanges a few blows before running away. Credit: Jared Solberg via Storyful
