RG&E cuts power in parts of Brighton for repairs. How long will outage last?

Rochester Gas and Electric announced Thursday afternoon that it needs to make emergency repairs to a distribution circuit in the Clover Street and East Avenue area of Brighton, which will result in a power outage for around 230 customers.

The outage was expected to start at 2:30 p.m. and is expected to last four to five hours, RG&E said in a statement.

The work will repair underground cable damage that caused the circuit to trip.

The company apologized for the inconvenience and said it will provide updates on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Customers also can get information via the RG&E mobile app.
