Restaurant bites, Dec. 6, 2022

Dec. 5—Piccolino Italian Restaurant, 2890 Agua Fría St., has reopened on Saturdays and adjusted hours the rest of the week. The popular restaurant had been closed on weekends since Aug. 22. Piccolino remains closed on Sunday. The new hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

----James Campbell Caruso will open La Boca Bodega, 145 Lincoln Ave., in the coming days next door to his La Boca tapas bar and restaurant. The store will offer cheeses, jamón, olive oils, seafood conservas, spices, chorizos and more from the Iberian peninsula, as well as Spanish charcuterie and cheese platters. La Boca Bodega is the second European foodie shop after the December 2020 launch of Deli at Sassella on McKenzie Street.

----The Poki Tako food truck has found another new home at Tumbleroot Brewery and Distillery, 2791 Agua Fría St. Chef Randy Tapia originally launched his poke-taco fusion food truck at the Harley-Davidson dealership but relocated to Marquez Place in July, acknowledging then he did not know how permanent that location would be. Poki Tako also has a stall at the CHOMP food hall, 505 Cerritos Road.

----Back Road Pizza, 1807 Second St., is reopening indoor dining Wednesday after a two-year, nine-month slog through the pandemic with "an enormous amount of caution," owner Piper Kapin said. "Fortunately, our curbside system was fantastic. But people are constantly asking us to reopen. Tips have been starting to dwindle in winter. People are done with sitting on the patio in winter."
