Residents Evacuate as Fire Breaks Out Near Silverthorne, Colorado

Authorities in Summit County, Colorado, ordered evacuations near Silverthorne on September 27, as a fire, dubbed the Ptarmigan Fire, broke out in the area.

The fire had burned between 30 and 40 acres late on Monday, according to the local fire service. It was first reported near the Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness Area.
