The Boston Celtics’ injured bigs are inching closer to their respective returns with reports trickling out of the team’s Auerbach Center training facilities that both starting center Robert Williams III and veteran forward Danilo Gallinari are present and putting in work on the court.

One of the two is quite clearly further along than the other with Timelord reportedly scrimmaging with the Celtics ahead of an anticipated return around Christmas per The Athletic’s Jay King. Gallinari has yet to determine a target date beyond sometime near the end of the 2022-23 regular season or beyond, but per Jared Weiss (also of The Athletic), he is doing stationary shooting drills.

Expect no rush to get either back on the court with the way that Boston is playing.

But a team as good as this with the potential to add even just Timelord back into the mix during the regular season is a luxury 29 other ball clubs would be quite happy to have.
