The New York Rangers have traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the Ottawa Senators.

In return, the Rangers acquire a fourth-round pick in 2021 and defenseman Nick Ebert. The Blue Shirts will also retain $750,000 of Namestnikov’s $4,000,000 cap hit.

Namestnikov, a 2011 first-round pick, recorded 11 goals and 31 points with New York last season. Highly-touted, the Russian forward has struggled to live up to his billing as a top selection. In 2017-18, the centre had a career year, posting 22 goals and 48 points.

Ebert was a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2012. He’s spent the last two seasons playing for HC Slovan Bratislava of the Kontinental Hockey League and Orebro HK of the Swedish Hockey League. He has played one game with the Belleville Senators this year and has yet to play a game in the National Hockey League in his career.
