The Philadelphia Flyers and defenceman Ivan Provorov have agreed to terms on a six-year deal worth an average annual value (AAV) of $6.75 million per season, according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie.

Provorov is expected to sign the contract Friday upon reporting to training camp, McKenzie reports.

He posted seven goals and 19 assists in 82 games during the 2018-19 season.

Provorov hasn’t missed a game during his NHL career, and led all Flyers in ice time last year, logging just over 25 minutes per game. The 22-year-old is expected to feature on the Flyers’ top pair again and will log heavy minutes in all scenarios once again.

Selected seventh overall in 2015, Provorov has made an instant impact and is two years removed from a season where he posted a career-best 17 goals and 41 points.

Prior to the extension, Provorov was on the final year of his contract. The Flyers can enter the season knowing that they have a major part of their future locked up, with ambitions of returning to the playoffs, after falling behind in a wildly competitive Metropolitan Division in 2018-19.
