According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, the Dallas Mavericks are signing free agent point guard Kemba Walker. Walker played for the Boston Celtics from 2019 to 2021.

Walker, 32, is a four-time All-Star, and could help a struggling Mavs team right the ship. Dallas is 28th in assists per game this year and is an average team shooting from distance. A healthy Walker could help alleviate some of these concerns.

At the time of this writing, Dallas is 9-10 and has lost four consecutive games. Walker, meanwhile, was went unsigned this offseason after having his contract bought out by the Detroit Pistons.
