Report: Commanders DE Chase Young targeting midseason return

The Washington Commanders are expected to activate rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. this week from the NFI [non-football injury] list, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

That wasn’t the only injury news Rapoport discussed on Sunday morning. Star defensive end Chase Young, who tore his ACL and suffered other damage in his knee, is targeting a midseason return, per Rapoport.

Young was placed on the PUP [physically unable to perform] list before the season and is eligible to return this week. While Young’s recovery is going well, Washington is not going to rush him.

Meanwhile, star pass rusher Chase Young, who is currently on the reserve/physically unable to perform list while recovering from a torn ACL suffered during the 2021 season, is targeting a midseason return, sources say.

JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington also added this about Young’s recovery.

Washington’s defense can certainly use Young.
