Report: Cincinnati Bengals have held trade talks for Carlos Dunlap

The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly have active trade talks around defensive end Carlos Dunlap.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Dunlap could end up inactive for Week 7 while the Bengals work on a trade:

The Bengals have had active trade talks surrounding DE Carlos Dunlap, sources say, who has publicly and privately been frustrated with his role. There is a chance he’s inactive today, in fact, with a potential trade looming. Both sides, it appears, would welcome a new beginning.

The report doesn’t exactly come as a surprise given the surrounding circumstances, with Dunlap escalating things on Saturday by posting a clip of the team’s depth chart.

For that action alone, it wasn’t going to be surprising to see Dunlap put on the inactive list, if not fined.

Elsewhere on the trade front, Rapoport says A.J. Green and Geno Atkins aren’t going anywhere.

The Bengals probably won’t find great trade return for Dunlap given his hefty price tag, lack of production and recent actions. But it seems clear the team is ready to move on from one of its all-time greats.
