Report: Atlanta engaging in non-Stroman trade talk with Blue Jays
And the rumours keep piling up.
A night after Eric Sogard was linked to the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants and weeks of Marcus Stroman speculation, another NL outfit has reportedly joined the mix of teams looking to dig into the Toronto Blue Jays’ talent pool.
The Atlanta Braves are believed to be interested in adding a reliever or versatile bat, and according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, have discussed trade possibilities with the Blue Jays of late.
Toronto sent a high-level scout to watch right-hander Tristan Beck start for Class A Florida on Friday night, with Ken Giles, Daniel Hudson and Eric Sogard all appearing as likely fits according to the report.

While the initial tweet lists Stroman as an option, Morosi was quick to further report that the highly sought after pitcher has not been part of the discussion. The Braves entered Saturday’s action first in the NL East at 61-43 and so it would make sense that they’re only looking to tinker with their current crop as opposed to making a major move.

In eight minor league starts for Florida this season, Beck has 39 strikeouts to 14 walks in 36.2 innings pitched to go along with a 5.32 ERA. He is listed 18th on the MLB Pipeline list for Atlanta.
