Reminderville to place 3-mill road/bridges levy on ballot

REMINDERVILLE – The village plans to place a 3-mill replacement levy on the May 2 primary election ballot for general construction, reconstruction and repair of roads and bridges.

Council adopted a resolution Jan. 24 that would send the levy request to the Summit County Board of Elections for placement on the ballot. The county auditor estimates the levy would bring in $468,699 annually.

The five-year levy would cost $105 annually for the owner of a property appraised at $100,000, and would be first due in 2024.

A separate resolution was adopted, which declares the necessity to replace the tax levy in excess of the 10-mill limitation.

Council also approved the following measures at its Jan. 10 and 24 meetings:

The Reminderville Communications Committee will conduct a winter grillout meet and greet Feb. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Heritage Hall on Glenwood Boulevard across from the police station. Residents can meet with other residents and council members, and enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers.

Reminderville Story Time takes place Fridays through April 28 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Heritage Hall. It is for children and caregivers, and Twinsburg Library’s bookmobile will be there. Those wishing to check out items should take their library cards.
