Registrations open for RCC summer camps

May 27—LUMBERTON — Registrations are now open for two Summer 2022 camps that will be held at Robeson Community College.

CyberCamp will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13-17 on the main campus located in Lumberton.

The CyberCamp is free to all sixth- to 12th-graders and is designed for students who are just getting into cybersecurity or who have cybersecurity knowledge and want to learn more.

Lunch will be provided daily and swag kits will be available for all participants.

The camp is provided in partnership with the Air Force Association (AFA) and the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) and is made possible through the RCC CyberConnect Grant funded by the National Science Foundation — Advanced Technological Education (NSF-ATE) Grant #2100012.

Full STEM Ahead

The Full STEM Ahead camp is offered for free to rising sixth through 12 grade American Indian students in Cumberland, Hoke, Scotland and Robeson counties.

The summer camp is focused on science, technology, engineering and math and will take place July 11-14. The camps are slated to be a fun-filled week of hands-on activities that encourage students to explore subjects in STEM-related fields. Camp topics will include engineering, health science, mechanical science, robotics and space.

The camp is hosted by RCC's Project3C, which is grant funded by the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, the Department of Education, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and RCC.
