Redfield walks off to stay unbeaten in Class B state Legion tourney over Gregory County

Jul. 31—GREGORY, S.D. — Nolan Gall scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh for Redfield to pick up a 13-12 win over Gregory County on Saturday night in the Class B state American Legion baseball tournament winner's bracket.

The high-scoring affair saw Redfield jump out to a 7-2 lead after two innings, but Gregory County answered back in the top of the sixth to take a one run lead. The scoring didn't let up, though, as Redfield tacked on two in the bottom of the fourth before both teams plated three in the fifth.

Gregory trailed by one heading into the seventh inning, but Brogan Glover doubled and drove in Bryce Frank to knot things up at 12 before Redfield walked it off in the bottom half of the inning.

Cameron Osborn finished 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs for Redfield, while Frank ended the game 3-for-5 with two runs for Gregory. Rylan Peck and Gannon Thomas each had a pair of hits for Gregory, and Thomas picked up four RBIS.

As a squad, Gregory finished with 10 hits but made five errors, while Redfield collected nine hits and made six errors.

Redfield (22-6) advances to take on Winner/Colome on Sunday night in a winner's brackt game involving the last two undefeated teams.

Gregory County (17-5) takes on Dell Rapids in an elimination game at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
