Reclaimed water line leak slows traffic in Port Orange

Motorists are asked to use caution when driving on a portion of Dunlawton Avenue near Interstate 95 in Port Orange as crews work to repair a reclaimed water line break, city officials said.

The leak does not affect drinking water, officials said on Tuesday.

"No need to boil water," city officials said in a Twitter announcement.

A westbound lane on Dunlawton Avenue is closed so motorists can drive around the leak as city crews work to repair the break, said city of Port Orange spokesman Mike Springer on Tuesday.

The water line break was reported just before 5 p.m. Monday and police were dispatched to the scene to help with traffic.

The Florida Department of Transportation will carry out any repairs needed on that section of Dunlawton Avenue, officials said.
