Reading Eagle: Berks churches schedule in-person, virtual services [Religion Digest]

Jan. 22----Trinity United Church of Christ, 2449 Cumberland Ave., Mount Penn, will worship in-person Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Adult church school will be at 9 a.m. Masks are recommended regardless of vaccination status. The service also will be recorded and posted on Facebook.

—Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will worship on Sunday at 9 a.m. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversation will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center and then again following worship. The Confirmation class will meet in the social hall for class at 10 a.m. The Adult Bible Study Class will be held at 10 a.m. in the parlor.

—Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will hold in-person worship on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Those not vaccinated must wear a mask. The recorded service will be available Monday on Facebook.

—Bern Reformed UCC, 3196 Bernville Road, Bern Township, offers live worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m., or participate from your vehicle by means of an FM 87.9 transmission.

—Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave., Reading, will worship Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on FaceBook Live. Adult forum will be held at 9 a.m. via Zoom. Links can be found at www.calvaryreformeducc.org.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will hold worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Livestreamed worship continues on YouTube (St. John's ELC Boyertown). Children's Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. — register at www.stjohnsboyertown.org. Masks required at all indoor events and worship. Free drive-through, take-out meal every Saturday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

—Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will hold three in-person worship services on Sunday, all including Holy Eucharist: at 8, there will be a said service (no music); at 9, a service for families with young children; and at 10:15, a service with music. Everyone attending these services is asked to wear a mask. Parking is available at the Abraham Lincoln parking garage and the M & T Bank lot, both off of Washington street. Parking next to the church on Court Street is available for those who are disabled or need assistance. On Thursday morning at 11, a morning prayer group based on the Book of Common Prayer will meet in the church sanctuary. Masks are required.

—St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michaels Road, Tilden Township, will worship Sunday at 10:15 a.m. The youth of the congregation will lead worship.

—St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have two worship services in the sanctuary on Sunday, at 9 and 10:30 a.m. The 9 a.m. service also will be available on Facebook and YouTube; links can be found at www.stpaulsfleetwood.org. Special music will be "In the Bleak Midwinter" with Greta Ertel and Jill Haley at 9 and "Here I Am Lord" by the Chancel Choir at 10:30. Hymn soloist will be Bob Ames at 9. Worship leaders are Tristin Farr at 9 and Steven Wentz at 10:30.

—Maidencreek Church, 261 Main St., Maidencreek Township, will hold a hybrid worship service Sunday at 9 a.m. There will be piano selections by Kimberly Ayrton, a clarinet solo by David Wentzel and a kalimba solo by Kimberly Ayrton as well as a congregational hymn. In-person worship is livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube.
