Kenya-born Visram connects travelers with top guides for spotting the Big Five in the Serengeti and tracking chimpanzees in the mountains of Tanzania. He’s also clued in to lesser-known camps and lodges, like those of the Dar es Salaam-based Wellworth Hospitality Collection.
For a spring 2022 trip that Visram calls a “Covid comeback celebration,” he sent a group of 15 on a spectacular tour of South Africa and Botswana. Over 13 days, the group visited the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls, and a stop in South Africa, staying at private conservancies in Khwai and the Gomoti Plains, and at Ngoma Safari Lodge, which works with the nearby communities. “It took an extreme amount of effort to plan and operate a safari via South Africa to Botswana when the fear of covid was still present in large numbers,” he says.
