Rapper Mist 'recovering well' after getting shot during suspected robbery

British rapper Mist has assured fans he is “recovering well” and ready to make music after being shot in a suspected robbery at a villa in the Algarve in Portugal.

The 27-year-old star – whose real name is Rhys Thomas Sylvester – was taken to hospital by his friends after being shot during the alleged burglary at a property in the town of Almancil on Tuesday (August 27).

According to reports, Mist’s friends told police that the rapper was shot in the leg during the incident.They said there had been two or three burglars.

The musician – whose passport, phones and jewellery were apparently stolen - has now broken his silence to update fans on his condition.

Sharing a picture on Instagram showing him giving the thumbs up, he wrote: “Received the maddest love in the last 2 days!

“Thank you everyone for having me in your prayers and sending your messages.

“Moments like this make you realise what’s important!”

He continued: “Im here, recovering well, ready to make more hits!

“Your karlas back in full action, nothin can hold me down! sticks and stones might break your bones but this karlas back and active!”

Mist added the hashtag “#whatdosentkillyoumakesyoustronger”.

The rapper started his music career in 2015 and is known for tracks such as Game Changer, Dreams To Reality and Karlas Back.

His 2018 album Diamond In The Dirt reached number four in the UK.

The MOBO-winning artist was in Portugal after performing at the Afro Nation Festival in Praia da Roche earlier this month.

In October 2014, the star was jailed for 14 months following a police chase on the M6 after he was caught driving without a licence.
