Rams score TD on gorgeous double-reverse trick play to Cooper Kupp

If you’re looking for the prettiest touchdown of Week 8, or maybe even the entire season thus far, you’ve found it. The Los Angeles Rams, caught in an early dogfight with the Cincinnati Bengals, rolled the dice on a trick play in an effort to break the 10-10 tie with four minutes left in the first half.

It was a double-reverse trick play, and the Bengals weren’t ready for it. How could they have been? After the snap, quarterback Jared Goff handed the ball off to Cooper Kupp. Kupp then tossed it to Robert Woods, who gave it back to Goff. Goff then reared back and threw the ball deep to Kupp, who caught it on the run and brought it in for a 65-yard touchdown.

It was simply gorgeous. It broke the tie and put the Rams up 17-10, giving L.A. breathing room against a team that wasn’t supposed to give them much trouble. The Rams eventually won 24-10.

It was a big, big day for Kupp. By the end of the first half, he had 165 yards on five catches and one touchdown. He finished with seven catches for 220 yards.
