Raleigh police asking for public’s help to catch man accused of shooting his wife

The Raleigh Police Department is looking for a man suspected of fatally shooting his wife.

Santago Oslo White, 56, faces a charge of murder for the death of Sharen White, according to a news release.

“If anyone has seen him or believes they know his whereabouts, they are asked to call Raleigh Police immediately,” the release stated.

Police found White around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Ileagnus Road in the southern outskirts of the city, according to an incident report obtained by The News & Observer. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-HELP (4357) or raleighcrimestoppers.org. Those who provide anonymous tips that help solve the case can receive cash rewards.

White is the second woman that police have found dead this week in Raleigh, after 22-year-old Amber Lightsey was found Sunday in a Food Lion parking lot east of downtown. Police have not said whether her death is being investigated as a homicide.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
