Quincy's Market 1858 open for seasonal business
Market 1858 in downtown Quincy is open. The project has been in the works for several years and is now a reality.
Six little sheds line the village green and three are open for business, 5-7 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday through October.
Sarah G. Designs, offering handmade jewelry, shares space with Tia’s Treasures — blankets, home decor and floral arrangements.
Sheena Rhue Spielbusch is usually in her shop on Main Street, Beauty Mark Salon & Spa, but moved some of her clothing and accessories to Market 1858 to support the project.
Creations by MiMi, offering a variety of home decor and some cold drinks, also came on board.
Market 1858 is part of a drive to revitalize downtown Quincy, by offering these pop-up businesses an opportunity to test the market. The goal is to create a hub of business and activities to attract new shoppers, residents and visitors to the community.
Established Quincy shops include Ten East Treasures, Book Haven, Refuge Coffee, Quincy Ace Hardware, Patty’s Bridal and several restaurants.
Three shops at Market 1858 are still available. Applications are at bit.ly/3wCnr85.
