Pursuit through Jamestown results in arrest
May 7—Three law enforcement agencies combined efforts in the capture of a man following a pursuit that began on Interstate 94 and continued through the city of Jamestown Thursday, according to Justin Blinsky, assistant chief of the Jamestown Police Department.
Eric Skorick, 26, was taken into custody about 3:50 p.m. in southeast Jamestown. Blinsky said he has ties to the Jamestown community although it is unclear where he resided.
Blinsky said the incident began as an attempted traffic stop by the North Dakota Highway Patrol on Interstate 94. At 3:19 p.m. it was reported the vehicle was fleeing the patrolman and entered Jamestown.
"He went through pretty much every quadrant of Jamestown," he said.
The vehicle crashed at the intersection of 8th Avenue Southeast and 7th Street Southeast where Skorick fled on foot. He was apprehended without incident about 20 minutes later about a half block from the accident scene.
Skorick is being held at the Stutsman County Correctional Center on suspicion of driving under suspension, fleeing/eluding a police officer, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and theft of property. Formal charges are pending.
The pursuit and capture involved the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff's Office and the Jamestown Police Department.
